Hidden Words Finder
What is a hidden word?
A hidden word is a real word that appears as a consecutive sequence of letters inside a longer
phrase or sentence — for example, “elsewhere”
contains “else”, “her”, “here”, and “where”.
Words can cross word boundaries and even punctuation: “ah! earth” conceals
“heart” (the ‘h’ from “ah” joins the “eart”
from “earth”).
What puzzles use hidden words?
- Cryptic crosswords — a hidden word clue contains the answer inside the clue text itself, usually signalled by an indicator like “in”, “within”, or “some”.
- Word search puzzles — find words hidden in a grid of letters, running horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
How to use it
Type or paste any word, phrase, or full sentence into the box, then press Go or hit Enter. Spaces and punctuation are ignored, so words hidden across a space boundary will still be found. Results are grouped by word length, longest first.
